INTRODUCTION

A downs cell use a down process in electrolysis where the chlorine gas from molten sodium
chloride is remove in order to produce sodium metal.This happen because the sodium metal
is a fun material which is too expensive for our budgets to buy it from others.So,in order to
save our budgets,we made it from a simple reaction by using tabe salts which are readily
available and also cheap.

First of all,we need to prepare temperature roughly at 800 in order to melt the sodium
chloride,this process can be easily done by using a Charcoal Foundry.In order to melt
them,we just need 8Volt-Direct Current,this is not a problem since the computer power
supply can provide us with 12Volt-Direct Current,while the iron and carbon electrode are
easy to obtain.All of them are needed to design and also to built a suitable container special
for reaction to occur.However,during doing this,some technical problem might happen.So in
order to overcome the problem,we have to make sure that the apparatus can able to hold the
temperature up to 800 .So one of the way to make sure that the apparatus can hold the
temperature up to 800 is by using a container made up from metal.
