hueareprevalentthroughoutthesonnetgivingamorepeacefultonetothework.
Thesesoundssuggestthatevensimplewordscangiveadeeperbeautythanother
morecomplexsounds.Insomeplacesharshersoundingdictionisusedrhetoricand
betteringgivingcontrasttotheoveralldictioninthework.Theharshsoundsdepict
themorecomplexwordingasharsherandmoreunpleasanttohearthanthesimpler
words.Imageryofagrosspaintingreadsassomethingthatshouldbebeautifulbutit
isgross.Contracitroywordinggivestheideaofagrosspaintingunpleasanttothink
off.Therootofthispaintingcomesfromthemisuseofcolorfulimageryandwording,
givingitanunpleasantsound.Overuseofmoreornatewordingfordescriptionwillbe
detrimentaltothosewhoaretrulybeautiful,ascolorfulrhetoricwillnevermatchtheir
beauty.Yetthistruthwontstoppoetsfromdoingso,astheyareoblivioustotheir
misuse.
