Success in STC

STC is an international school in Shatin, and just like other schools, defines the
schools success with the grades and accomplishments students achieve. But
how students could succeed in Shatin College?
The mission statement of STC is, Ours is a culture where we take responsibility
for fulfilling our own potential and that of others for the good of humanity at all
levels.
This statement shows that students of STC try their best in taking the
responsibility to do their part for humanity at all levels, meaning that succeeding
in STC is giving their best effort to help the world.
Other than succeeding, STC want students to focus on seven values,
Holistic learning,
Positive Relationships, Curiosity and Passion, Persistence and resilience,
Creativity, Integrity and Community. These values are the main factors to attain
success in education.
To maintain quality learning standards, STC follows these school aims and tells
students to do so too. The top three school aims are:
1. To foster a spirit of inquiry and develop self-confidence in all members of our
community.
2. To develop a balanced and relevant curriculum adaptive to the needs of all
students.
3. To form and preserve meaningful communications with parents

To summarize, from analysing the Mission Statement, Values and School Aims,
we could justify that STCs true definition of Success is getting excellent grades
and fostering a spirit of inquiry at the same time. This is because good grades
already represent hard work and perseverance while a spirit of inquiry symbolize
the enjoyment of learning.
