1.1. Create one material stream that contains only water with following
conditions:
Fluid Package: PengRobinson
Flowrate: 100 kgmole/h
Pressure: 1 atm
Vapor/Phase Fraction: 1.00
What is the temperature of this stream?
Ans: 215.42 F
1.2. Repeat the above procedure by replacing pressure with temperature of
150 oC. What is the pressure of this stream?
Ans: 67.17 psi
1.3. With the same condition in (2), reduce the temperature to 70oC. What is
the new pressure of this stream?
Ans: 4.05 psi
1.4. Create one new materials stream that contains only water with
following conditions: Fluid Package: PengRobinson
Flowrate: 100 kgmole/h
Pressure: 2 atm
Vapor/Phase Fraction: 1.00
What is the temperature of this stream?
Ans : 251.9 F

1.5. With the same condition in (4), increase the pressure to 5 atm. What is
the new temperature of this stream?
Ans: 307.94 F
1.6. With the same condition in (4), decrease the pressure to 0.5 atm. What
is the new temperature of this stream?
Ans: 183.05 F
1.7. What can you conclude from these problems (16)?

Ans: It can be concluded that as the pressure of the stream is

increased, its temperature
increases due to increase in internal energy of the material stream.
It can be seen that the
relationship is not linear. As we have used Peng Robinson method
for evaluating the
properties.
