Project Title

Cardboard Sandal

Project

Using the structures of polyhedral and prismatic cells, design and manufacture a pair of Sandals. The
Sandals can only be manufactured from cartridge paper (supplied) and glue such as Pritt Stick, UHU
etc. And must support your weight while walking

Evaluation

The Sandals will be evaluated using the following criteria:


Your Research: Polyhedral and prismatic cells, structures occurring in nature. Fashion, culture and
evolution of the sandals. Articulation and mechanics of walking...all used to justify your final design.
Appearance (Aesthetics and proportions)
Comfort and fit
Wearability
Structural support of the specific weight (your foot) and location relative to your walking pattern
Economy of material, least amount (assessed by weight)
Integration of top surface and strap(s)
Geometric Cell Configuration
