Abstract
Total productivity maintenance (TPM) for the time being of great importance in
industrial companies, for the need to preserve the physical assets and continuity of
work. Based total productivity maintenance on eight principles: the five "S" program
(5S), Autonomous
maintenance,
continuous improvement (kaizen), planned
maintenance, quality maintenance, training, office total productivity maintenance, and
safety, health and the environment. Through the application of those principles can
increase productivity by reducing the breakdown, improve quality, delivery time limits,
improved working conditions, and raise the morale of the workers. Has certainly
focused the importance of research on the role of the principles of effective total
productivity maintenance in achieving the objectives of industrial companies, and to
create cooperation and coordination between the various department of the company,
particularly the participation of all workers in the production and maintenance. The
research aims to design a checklist to evaluation the total productivity maintenance that
contribute to help managers to know the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance
of maintenance management in the company, which in turn contribute to the
achievement of the objectives of the company. To evaluation the total productivity
maintenance has been selected the maintenance department at the General Company for

evaluation the total productivity maintenance (1.58). Search also reached several
conclusions, including: The checklist to evaluation the total productivity maintenance is
generally can be applied to various industrial companies, as well as it can not be
application total productivity maintenance unless there is cooperation and coordination
between the maintenance department and other departments of the company. The
research was presented several recommendations including the of applying concepts and
principles of the total productivity maintenance in the company and make it the
responsibility of everyone, and to work in light of the proposed optimization.
