The Rifleman is the backbone of any infantry squad or unit. Riflemen are the
most versatile element of a Fire Team, the british rifleman is usually equipped
with the L1A1 (FN FAL ) shown below as well as a variety of hand grenades
and also the possibility of a LAW 72 ROCKET or a CARL GUSTAV AT launcher.
The duties of a Rifleman include :

Executing the orders of his Fire Team / Squad Leader.

Maneuvering and providing cover fire with his element.

Key points things to remember as a rifleman

Listen to your team leader and follow their directions. Fire team and
Squad Leaders are typically the more experienced players. Their role is
to try to keep you alive and in the fight, while accomplishing whatever
mission the squad may be tasked with. Listen to them and stick with
your team.

Scan for, spot, and call out enemy contacts. Do it so that everyone
can hear you. When giving the direction of contacts, relative directions
(front, left, rear, right) can be used when friendly forces are moving, if
not compass directions and degree bearings should be used.

Be concise on when using radio communication. Learn how to speak


clear and short on radio channels to avoid cluttering them up when

Communicate with your buddies. If it's important, let them know. If


you're moving, say so, so that they can know to cover you. Good
communication keeps everyone working together and aware of each
other's status, most importantly it will keep you alive.

weapons

This is the FN FAL used by all british infantry rifleman in the cold war era.

It is chambered for 7.62 x 51mm NATO rounds into a 20 round mag and

has an effective range of 800m.

sights

This is the british S.U.I.T scope, it has a 4 telescopic sight with tritiumpowered illumination, The full name is the L2A2 Sight Unit Infantry Trilux
usually issued to the section leader of the unit.

launchers

This is the carl gustav at launcher it fires a selection of 84mm rockets and
is given/used by the AT personel within the section, it also comes
equipped with with Iron sights, 3x optical , laser rangefinder and image
intensification system (IIS).

These are the typical rockets used , and are also carried by the AT
assistant within the squad.
