FIELD OF THE INVENTION
‘This invention relates to footwear Inpaticular producti
hich a cushioning meansis so positioned, or so constructed.
that when applied to footwear, it provides resilient support
between the eel ofthe wearer andthe heel sea surface ofthe
ootwear
BACKGROUND OF 1
IE INVENTION
Existing shoe insoles offer theories of howto provide com=
foe to feet or theories of how to remove odor from fect.
However, non offer effective theories on both and none use
the materials disclosed hereto accomplish this dl purpose.
For example, US. Patent Applicaton 2011/0067272 by Lin
teaches foot bed made of strings to reduce odor. U.S. Patent
Application 20080307679 by Chang teaches a series of
pillars designedto increase ventilation and thus decrease odor
‘na foot bed. All ofthese teach away from the present inven-
tion disclosed below
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
An improved footbed comprises an tninterrupted contin
‘ous bottom encasing directly against an uninterrupted con-
tinuous cushion. The bottom casing completely surrounds
‘and extends above a cushion perimeter of the uinterrupted
‘continsous cushion. ‘The uninterrupted continusus bottom
‘encasing is thicker atthe heel region than the toe region
Toming a continuous wedge. The cushion is joined to ua
‘uninterrupted continuous eneasing sheet with cement. An
‘encasing sheet perimeter is completely surrounded by and
adjacent to the uninterrupted continuous botom encasing
‘which extends above the eneasing sheet perimeter. The unin=
temipted continous encasing sheet is joined t top cover
and the uninterupted continurus bottom encasing with
‘cement. The top cover completely covers thee uninterrupted
‘continuous encasing sheet and tp exige ofthe bottom encas-
‘ng. The uninterrupted continuous bottom encasing, the unin-
‘errupted continuous cushion, the uninterrupted continuous
‘encasing sheet and the tp cover continuously run from heel
to toe and each comprise: heel-eup, an arch support and @
metatarsal suppor.

FIG. 1 shows the improved foot bed in use. Once
assembled, a user sees bottom encasing 16 is mechanically
joule to top cover 10 as discussed in FIG. 2
FIG. 2 shows an assembly view of the improved footbed
Fottom encasing 16 is mechanically coupled to cushion 14
Cushion 14 is mechanically coupled to encasing sheet 12.
Encasing sheet 12 is mechanically coupled to top cover 10.
asomeembodiments bottom encasing 16 smd of cork.
Cushion 14 is made from an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)
foam, Encasing sheet 12 ie made of cork. Top layer 10is made
‘of suede In this manner, the cork has anti-microbial proper-
ties (educing bacterial build-up which ereates foot odor).
‘The suede covering provides a soft fecling othe footbed. It
is important to use both ofthese together
Cork foot beds alone while cantrolingodortend tobe quite
bard. An BVA alone foot bed tends to pxluce odor after use
The cork also reduces heat from the EVA. In this manner, the
nproved foot bed provides comfort while eontling odor.
FIG. 3 provides section view ofthe improved footbed. To
make the invention a user must frst make‘ Female mo and
‘male mold. Next, a rectangular pice of BVA is cut into a
wedge (because the section ofthe improved foot bed nearest
the cel s thicker that the section of the improved foot hed
‘nearest the toes), then the wedge is die eut creating an EVA
blank that approximates the volume nocd for the mol.
Next, a cork veneer is placed over the female mold and the
EVA blank placed on top. Using heat and compression these
are then compressed together forming an ergonomic shape
i.e, there isa heel-cup, arch support and metatarsal suppor.
Inthismanner bottom encasing 16s mechanically coupled 10
cushion Id. Next, encasing shoot 12 is mechanically coupled
tocushion 14 hy cement 18, Last, ip eover 10 mechanically
coupled to the now cork encased EVA footbed with cement
