We just completed a unit on functions and this was a perfect example of how math functions are used in our everyday life. Ask your child what an input and output is and how that is used to code a computer game. The following is a video that we watch about coding. https://www.brainpop.com/technology/compu terscience/computerprogramming We have just completed our winter MAP testing. We have found that there is a direct correlation between MAP scores and EOG performance. South Charlotte students are fortunate to have access to a computer program called Compass Learning. This program uses your childs MAP results to formulate an individualized training program for your child. We have found that working on Compass Learning directly impacts your childs MAP/EOG scores. Therefore, we recommend that your child works for 15 minutes a day on this program. Your childs sign on information is: User id: First Name Initial Capitalized Last name (with first initial capitalized) and last 4 numbers of student id Password: YYMMDD (of birthday) School: CMSD
