No. 60/673.584 fled Ape 20, 2008, and titled "PORTABLE STORAGE UNIT AND METHODS,” are all hereby inconporated by reference FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to portable guage and stor- age units. More particulary, the present invention relates & mobile storage unit with an exo-skeletal frame BACKGROUND ‘here ar a numberof diferent types of backpacks, totes, dulle bags and luguoge units that ae used for porting artiles from place to place. These prior art porable storage units suffer from a numberof shortcomings. Forexample, once the ‘casing of the portable storage unit is worn out oF rips, the ‘entire unit typically needs to be replaced. Also, most sof shell, ‘or fabric-type storage units used for travel are stucturally, flimsy and will collapse, deform or break whea placed under Toad. Accordingly, such prior an ponable storage units can not be stacked ors upon, "There are also hard shell or solid shell portable storage units. However, like the softshell portable storage unis, they fare unusable once the shel is punctured orerackes. Also, the hard shells typically thin in order to minimize the weight of the poruble storage and is, therefore, can collapse whes placed under heavy weight. further shortcoming ofa hard ‘hel portable storage units that ther is no easy way 9 make ‘ahd shell unit with pockets or other compartments tht ean be realy accessed fom outside the hard shel without open- ing the main forage compartment formed by the hard shel, "Accordingly there isa need to make a lightweight mobile storage units that are stroctrally sound, such that they ean withstand weight caused by stacking units together and/or siting on them, without collapsing. Preferably, the mobile ‘Horage units have storage compartments that ca be replaced inthe event of tear, puncture or other damage. Also, the mobile storage units preferably include oulside pockels oF ‘other compartments that can be accessed without having 10 ‘open the main storage compartments of the mobile storage unis.
