Dear Interviewer,

My name is Haley Williams and I am in the fourth year of my undergraduate education at

Alverno College. I am majoring in Early Elementary Education with a support in English
Language Arts. Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio and assess the materials
and items that I believe show evidence of who I am as a teacher candidate.
The path of my college education has taken many turns. I began my undergraduate degree at
UW-Milwaukee and I am now completing it at Alverno College. The choices I made have
allowed me to truly gain the most from my education. I have been able to find myself in the
world of education and understand the teacher that I want to become one day. Being a part of the
strong community of future educators in the School of Education has given me the confidence in
myself as a teacher. I want to establish a similar community of strength in my classroom. I also
want my future students to understand who they are as learners and to have the confidence to
keep moving forward in their education.
The artifacts, evidence, rationales, and videos that I have carefully selected for this portfolio
show my progress over the last four years of my education. I believe that the selections that I
have made show my developing understanding of both the Wisconsin Teacher Standards and the
Alverno Education Abilities. My portfolio is designed to showcase my evidence through the
subject areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts. In each of these provided
sections you will find the necessary components that show who I am and what I have
accomplished thus far as a teacher candidate.
