Its a good subscription for
young adults who live in New

to do. It has a page for
nightclubs so teenagers can
find the best clubs in New
York. The main colours used
are red and black.

Kerrang is a rock style


magazine aimed at young
adults who are into rock
music. It is read by people
interested in the latest rock
bands. Theres also a page
where you can book tickets to
concerts and gigs, much like
NME. This feature appeals to
people looking for rock
concerts. The main colours
are black and white, with
monochromatic pictures. Its
blocky style and very simple,
enticing the younger
generation.

NME and Kerrang are similar as in they both focus on pop/rock music and they also
both appeal to the younger generation. Time Out, however not only focus on music but
theyre also a lifestyle magazine. Time Outs target audience are teenagers and young
adults who are visiting or live in New York, who want to find the best clubs and bars in
New York. NME, Time Out and Kerrang all have two main colours; Black, White and Red.
This shows that they all target the same kind of audiences as well as sharing the same
type of website format.

Block Printing
Block printing is done using wooden or metal
blocks, one for every colour. The background
shapes are cut away to leave a raised design on a
block. The dye is then applied and stamped onto
the fabric. This a very slow process usually craft

Planographic printing
Planograpic printing methods were introduced in the 19 th
century. Theres two types of planographic printing,
Lithography and stencilling. Lithography is where an image is
dampened then coated with ink on a printing plate., its then
transferred onto paper. Stencilling is completely different, its
when ink is brushed onto stencil and applied to the paper. This
method is similar to wood block printing, they are both using
stencils and wood blocks, but was introduced many years
later.

Flexography
Flexography is when an image is drawn onto a thin
rubber plate and then placed onto the material the
most common materials theyre printed on are;
