Graphic Art Exam

Part A: 35%
Take and ordinary item and make it unique using graphic art. You may
use digital images or traditional art supplies.
Part B: 35%
Create the packaging for your product digitally.
Your packaging should include at least:
Product Name
Company Name
Tagline or Short description of product use.
Personal Logo

Both parts will be evaluated on the art principles that have guided your
art projects throughout the semester. Both your product and its
packaging should clearly include these elements and principles. You
should be able to explain what each is and where it can be found in
you project.
(3 from each category should be in your presentation)

Center of Focus
Contrast
Colour Choice
Variations
Gestalt Principles
Similarity (Pattern, Colour Scheme)
Figure and Ground (Use of Positive and Negative space)
Closure

Proximity

Part C: 30%
Make a Presentation to explain your project to the class.
Projects arent worth doing if no one gets to see them, so you
will need to create a presentation that explains your product and
shows us your packaging. This is also where you will include the
explanation of your project that will show me you know the design
principles we have been working with all semester.
Your Logo should be included in your project on both your packaging
and you presentation.
Each section will be marked on:
Creativity Is it original or unique?
Time and Love
Confidence in your product.
Projects to be passed in on Wednesday January 20th at the end of
class.
5% will be taken off per day for late projects.
