Analysis of Mocking Jay Part 2
Mocking Jay Part 2 takes place in the country of Panem. It is
supposed to represent the future of our society; it is ruled by a
president. This president doesnt have the same restrictions as ours
and no one challenges him, until now, until Katniss. His name is
president Snow and whoever gets in his way gets killed. He is a tyrant
and the citizens of the districts want to overthrow him. Revolution is
major theme in this movie because it is all the districts against the
Capital. It is an underdog story; the face of the rebels was the girl that
started it all.
The rebels obtain what they need to fight and prepare for the
battles to come. The movie opens up with a scene of Katniss
recovering after getting attacked by the boy she loves, Peeta, after he
had been brainwashed by the Capital. President Snow and the rich
privileged citizens of Panem live in the Capital. It goes from the Capital
to districts 1-12. The closer you are to the district the more money you
have. Katniss is the symbol of the revolution against the capital; she is
the Mocking Jay. She represents a symbol of power and hope to the
rebels. She inspires them to fight for justice and that they must give

the capital the revenge they deserve. She is currently living in the
underground district 13 that the Capital destroyed years before.
Katniss is not the typical hero depicted in stories; she is a girl, but she
does have the traits of being an underdog and winning. She is from the
very poor district of 12 and goes into the first Hunger Games not
expecting win, but does and then goes back for a second Hunger
Games.
In this revolution against the Capital, the radicals try to spread
chaos and hope to the other districts empowering them to join the fight
against the Capital. They intercept the Capitals network footage and
project their own footage to persuade the other districts to rally
against the Capital. All of district 13 is brave and self-sufficient. No one
knew that they still existed and had been stock piling and building
weapons all these years. They were very resourceful in the fight; they
provided as the headquarters, the home for all the district 12 survivors,
and as the military base.
In the end of the movie the rebels all vote to see if they want to
make President Snow and the Capital officials suffer as payment for
what they did to them. They vote to have a last Hunger Games with
the Capital officials children as a final end to the madness of the
Hunger Games. This signifies closure and victory. The rebels had finally
won and are celebrating it by giving pain to those who hurt them. The
country of Panem is no longer run under the power of a tyrant and

people are now living happily and healthy. This revolution may have
killed many people, as a battle always does, but in the end it was
resolved and the people now live in peace.
