ABSTRACT
State of the reliance on a lifetime of dialysis machines and the adaptation to pain
conditions resulted in a change in the lives of patients with chronic renal failure.
Changes in life, is one of the triggers of stress. This will indirectly affect the
satisfaction of one's life that will also have an impact on the quality of life of patients
with chronic renal failure. This study aims to determine the relationship of the level
of stress on the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure undergoing
hemodialysis therapy in Ibnu Sina Hospital Pekanbaru. Methods research is
Quantitative with analytic survey design using cross sectional.Tekhnik sampling by
total sampling. Number of samples 36 respondents. Data were analyzed chi-square
test. The results showed relationship between the level of stress on the quality of life
of patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy in Ibnu Sina
Hospital Pekanbaru pvalue value = 0,004 < 0.05. Based on the results of the study,
the researchers suggested to respondents to always have positive thinking towards
themselves and share the problems faced by family members so that the stress
experienced by the respondents can be reduced or disappear so that the respondent's
perception of him getting better and affect the quality of life better.
