Chandigarh to Shimla-Kufri by Car.

Journey from Chandigarh to Shimla by car is cozy drive as the national highway i
s well connected with condition ,maintenance is far better than our standards.
Time is early morning at 7AM ,as I prepare to Leave chandigarh near Danik Bhaska
r office on way to Shimla,my wife keeps the routine eatable so as to make the jo
urney more easy to drive.We therefore in this arrangements leave our home nearly
twenty minutes as per schedule and at 7.25AM is on our wheels to drive towards
Matka chowk and sector 26 to Panckula Road,on way comes we comne across followin
g small towns which has industrial significance Pinjore,Kalka,Parwanno, Koti, Jh
abli, Sanwara,Dharmpur,Kumarhatti,and then to by pass Solan,Chamba Ghat,Kandha G
hat,Kayari Ghat,Shoghi,Taradevi,Shimla,chota Shimla,Shagoti,Kufri.
Total distance from chandigarh to Shimla 125 Km and Kufri ahead is another 16KM.
We reached at Shimla nearly at 11.20AM and parked our car at three tier parking
lot.
Within a distance of 50Meter we came across the lift which charged Rs 7.00 to be
on route to Mall Road of Shimla which has Old Dicocese Church affilated to Amri
tsar, Jhaku Temple where Lord Hanuman spent his rest while on way to get Medicin
al herbs for Lakshman while he lay sub

conscious in Ram -Ravana epic war.Lots of people were visiting Jhaku temple and
place is about 1.5KM from the Mall -hill top near the church.As we came from the
temple we moved on to MCD building of Shimla and new Mall is under construction
hopefully by MCD shimla so the road was narrowed down for the visitor to move i
n sidelane.The Mall has its usual glitter and road was packed with visiitor stro
lling around the Mall market,the restaurents getting most of the crowd as it was
Lunch time.Childrens coming from their school on their way to homes were part o
f the well managed crowd on the Mall.After doing a bit of eating and little shop
ping we moved on to Kufri as the height of this site is more than 8000ft ASL.As
we moved from Shimla we came across well connected Chotte Shimla and Shangotti t
he two suburbs well connected with City Shimla.
On our way we came to Kufri and found the place unholy to the tourist as there a
re no resting houses or retaurents provided by the Himachal Government,the spots
they Guides were projecting were too far from one corner to another without any
proper mode of transportation.Most of

the tourist lokked dejected and moved swiftly back to Shimla.However in winters
whensnow capped mounatins are visible then its beauty may be awesome to watch, w
e hope that we enetered the wrong time at the right place.Government needs to sp
ent some mindful transportation and conveyance for the easygazing of hills beaut
y and nice weather.
