The diagram above shows elements of a refrigeration system: a compressor, a
condenser, a capillary tube, an evaporator and refrigerant. The refrigeration process starts in the compressor. Firstly, the gaseous refrigerant is compressed to reach high temperature and high pressure by the compressor. Then, the high-pressure and high-temperature gas moves to the zigzag-shaped condenser where it releases heat to the air and condenses into a liquid. After that, the high-pressure liquid leaves the condenser for the capillary tube or expansion valve. This tube has tiny holes to spray the liquid into a larger space. Due to a sudden change in volume, a sudden fall in pressure occurs. Additionally, pressure is proportional to temperature. That means the surrounding temperature rapidly drops. The atomized liquid goes to the evaporator where it is heated to become gas. The gas, then, is sucked to in the compressor owing to the pressure difference. And the refrigeration process starts 3again.
