Veneers
INTRODUCTION
Veneer is a term used for any substrate
excluding plywood, which has been
overlaid with book matched real wood
veneers of approximately 0.5mm.
Veneers are basically of two types
1. Natural veneers
2. Recon (artificial veneers)
PRODUCTION
The finest and rarest logs are sent to
companies that produce veneer.
Veneer is obtained either by "peeling" the
trunk of a tree or by slicing large rectangular
blocks of wood known as flitches. The
appearance of thegrain andfigurein wood
comes from slicing through thegrowth
ringsof a tree and depends upon the angle at
which the wood is sliced.
APPLICATION
Interior furniture.
Musical instruments.
Walls of office cabins.
After applying veneer on products it is
polished to get glossy or met finish.
Veneers should not be used in wet
areas.
