(BMHA) for part 8 of its innovative model of
community engagement and transformative
planning designed to infuse mental health
strategies and solutions into the current and
longstanding challenges facing Baltimore City.
This movement is an inclusive approach to
community change guided by the wisdom of
national thought leaders and local experts.
Dedicated to the liberation of the African mind,
psychologist, Dr. Cheryl Tawede Grills, will speak
on the crippling image of African and AfricanAmerican people worldwide and offer solutions
through Community Healing Network's Emotional
Emancipation (EE) Circles model. Dr. Cheryl
Tawede Grills is a clinical psychologist with emphasis in Community Psychology. She
is Professor of Psychology at Loyola Marymount University, Immediate Past
President of The Association of Black Psychologists, and founder and director of
Imoyase Community Support Services. Dr. Grills consults nationally on issues
regarding cultural competence, multiculturalism and Afrocentric interventions.
