Happiness is a choice.

Socrates said that, only by engaging in the science of the good

that we can know what our ultimate good is, but we can never fully grasp it in our
lifetime. First we must agree that personal happiness is subjective. It is different for
every person. The happiness of an artist will be different from the happiness of a felon.
An artist will find happiness in expressing his art while a felon will be very happy if he
does not get caught while doing his dirty work. The happiness of the artist is the same
with the happiness of the felon in the sense that it gives them both joy. It only differs as
to the method of attaining their happiness. The method of the artist is good, as what
Socrates said to be the science of the good, while the method of the felon, is a bad
method.
