SCHOLARSHIPS
for study and research in Germany
(Christian candidates willing to apply could submit the applications for Master program
as well as PhD studies or research project)
The KAAD - Catholic Academic Exchange Service for more than 50 years has been
granting scholarships for study and research in Germany. The Alumni community of KAAD
covers nearly 8,000 alumni in 120 countries. A global partner network and contacts are
available to KAAD scholarship holders as well as candidates worldwide.
The Academic Council of KAAD meets twice a year (End of March and end of September)
and decides about scholarships for studies, postgraduate studies or research projects. The
KAAD scholarship holders will have the choice of universities, research institutes, archives,
hospitals and other academic institutions and there are no restrictions
as far as subjects are concerned.
The following documents (amongst others) must be submitted:
1. Registration form (to be sent directly to KAAD)
2. Description of research project (objectives of the study, training or research project)
3. Two letters of recommendation written by professors of your home university
4. Letter of endorsement from your supervising professor in Germany (only for PhD students)
5. Admission to a program from a German university (only for Master's Students)
5. Recommendation of a priest from the candidates home church
6. German language certificate
Scholarship duration: from 2 Months up to 36 Months
Scholarship amount: 750, - 2,000 EUR monthly
KAAD reimburses your travel expenses (round-trip ticket) and pays monthly subsidy to your
health insurance health insurance are paid by KAAD
