A hierarchical database model is a data model in which the data is organized into a tree-like

structure. The data is stored as records which are connected to one another through links.
The network model is a database model conceived as a flexible way of representing objects and
their relationships. Its distinguishing feature is that the schema, viewed as a graph in which object
types are nodes and relationship types are arcs, is not restricted to being a hierarchy.
Relational model organizes data into one or more tables (or "relations") of columns and rows, with
a unique key identifying each row. Rows are also called records or tuples.[2]Generally, each
table/relation represents one "entity type" (such as customer or product). The rows represent
instances of that type of entity (such as "Lee" or "iPhone 6") and the columns representing values
attributed to that instance (such as address or price).
In ER modeling, the structure for a database is portrayed as a diagram, called an entity-relationship
diagram (or ER diagram), that resembles the graphical breakdown of a sentence into its grammatical
parts. Entities are rendered as points, polygons, circles, or ovals. Relationships are portrayed as
lines connecting the points, polygons, circles, or ovals.
Dimensional modeling (DM) names a set of techniques and concepts used in data
warehouse design. Dimensional modeling always uses the concepts of facts (measures), and
dimensions (context). Facts are typically (but not always) numeric values that can be aggregated,
and dimensions are groups of hierarchies and descriptors that define the facts.
Ocbject-relational model similar to a relational database, but with an object-oriented database
model: objects, classes and inheritance are directly supported in database schemas and in the query
language. In addition, just as with pure relational systems, it supports extension of the data model
with custom data-types and methods.
A database management system (DBMS) is system software for creating and managing
databases. The DBMS provides users and programmers with a systematic way to create, retrieve,
update and manage data.
A relational database management system (RDBMS) is a program that lets you create, update,
and administer a relational database. RDBMSs are a common choice for the storage of information
in new databases used for financial records, manufacturing and logistical information, personnel
data, and other applications
