SHOW ME THE MONEY MONDAYS

As a class we will work on matters related to
money. An emphasis will be placed on adding,
subtracting,and multiplying money with realworld applications.
Example activities: buying groceries from an
advertisement on a budget, counting change back to a
customer,calculating hours worked on a timecard,analyzing
check stubs for errors, etc.

ON-TASK TUESDAYS
Each student in our math class has individual goals that
they are working towards to become more proficient in their
own math skills. So, on these days they will work on skills
that have been hand-selected to address these individual
needs.
Example work: one student may be practicing subtracting
multi-digit numbers with borrowing while another student is
working on order of operations.

Word problem WEDNESDAYS

On Wednesdays, students will work in a small
group to focus on strategies for analyzing and
answering word problems correctly. This will
address a variety of skills necessary for future
success in math classes.

ON-TASK THURSDAYS
Each student in our math class has individual goals that

logic puzzle FRIDAYS

On Fridays, there will be a focus on free-thinking and
problem-solving; using their own logic. We will begin with a
brain-teaser of the day, then we will play games or logic
puzzles designed to encourage kids to use reasoning and
logic skills to come to a conclusion.
Example activities: sudoku puzzles, logic puzzles, or online
games like sugar sugar which promote a variety of problemsolving techniques.
