TheHyderabadMetropolitanDevelopmentAuthoritywilltakeupaprojecttodevelopHyderabadHabitatCentrewith
anoutlayof Rs

266crore.
Tocomeuponan11acresiteinKhanametintheIThubofHyderabad,thiswillbemodelledontheIndiaHabitat
Centre,Delhi.TheHyderabadcentrewillpromoteHeritage&ArtofHyderabadandtheregion.
Asachiefpromoter,HMDAwillcontributelandandseedcapitalforthespecialpurposevehicletodevelopandoperate
facilitiesofthecentre.
Accordingtoastatementfromtheauthority,theexecutivecommitteewhichmetheretodayalsodecidedtotakeupan
exclusiveautomatedmultilevelparkingfacilityatAmeerpetona1,648sqyardsite.Itwillprovideparkingfacilityfor
about200fourwheelersand190twowheelers.Itwillcomeoutwithanoutlayof Rs
.
27.3crore.
TheurbanauthorityhascomeoutwithanewpolicyofleasingofHMDAlands.Underthenewnorms,theleasewillbe
forashorttermof35years.Theleaserentalswillbe10percentoftheprevailingmarketvalueperannum.
Allthegenuineleasesproposalswillbeplacedbeforeexecutivecommitteeforfinalapprovalofthemanaging
committee.LongtermleaseproposalswillbesubmittedtotheGovernmentafterapprovalofthecommittee.The
escalationwillbe10percentoftheleaseamountforeveryfiveyearsinlongtermleases.
