Draft for Evaluation Questions

1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Trailer
This will be done though a Video presentation that compares current social
realist films with our media product explaining the exact conventions that we
used, developed and challenged

Conventions used:

Film title and credits appearing at the end of the trailer

Use of unknown actors/ actresses
Convention of a trailer: use of non-diegetic sound
Use of hand held camera shots
Trailer convention: Addition of reviews in trailer
Filming on location
Social media synergy: use of twitter hash tags and website addresses
Trailer duration is 1:30 -2 minutes long
Semi improvised scripts
Wider social issues explore though emotional and dramatic individual
stories i.e. PTSD explored by a teenager who lost her best friend in a car
accident

Conventions Developed:

We didnt develop any conventions we either stuck to them or broke them

completely.

Conventions Challenged

Zahra Adiukwu

We used no diegetic sound opting for narration instead

Use of main character: two main characters instead of just the one.
Although heavier focus is on the female which also breaks conventions
since males are usually the primary focus.

Poster & Magazine

We used the presentation website visme.co for this since we cant really
get videos of magazines and posters
