NOUN
DEFINITION : A PERSON, PLACE , THING, or IDEA
EXAMPLES :
PERSON : teacher, boy, girl, Dayana, Bryan , the President, etc.
PLACE : Malaysia, school, bathroom, library, etc.
THING : pen, car, eraser, bottle, etc.

VERB
DEFINITION : A word that expresses either an ACTION or A STATE OF
BEING
EXAMPLES :
ACTION : run, kick, jump, fall, swim, etc.
STATE OF BEING : is, was, were, are, etc.

PRONOUNS
DEFINITION : A word that takes the place of a noun
EXAMPLES :
Definite Pronouns : he, him, she, her, it, they, etc.
Indefinite Pronouns : many, few, all, everyone, nobody, anybody, etc.

ADJECTIVE
DEFINITION : A word or phrase that describes a noun or pronoun
EXAMPLES :
Slow, intelligent, weird, lazy, athletic, etc.
the slow turtle / He is naughty

ADVERB
DEFINITION : A word or phrase that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another
verb
EXAMPLES :
HOW? : quickly, beautifully, lazily, extravagantly, strangely, etc.
( She runs quickly )
WHEN? : now, yesterday, then, etc.
( I ran yesterday )
WHERE? : there, here, away, etc.
( I ran there )

CONJUNCTIONS
DEFINITION : Words that join words or group of words
EXAMPLES :
COORDINATING : For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So
CORRELATIVE : Either/or, Neither/nor, Both/and
SUBORDINATING : before, after, during, until, whereas
(Before the game, the team practiced.)

PREPOSITION
DEFINITION : Words that show the relationship between a noun or
pronoun
and other words in a sentence
EXAMPLES :
SPACE : in, below, above, under, outside, within, etc.
TIME : during, while, after, at, etc.
( I did y homework after I ate )
LOGIC : for, of, concerning, despite, etc.

INTERJECTION
DEFINITION : Words used to convey emotion through some kind of
exclamation
EXAMPLES :
Oh! Ouch! Wow! Whoa!
