So you got me thinking of counter arguments and I came up with some ; by accepting all these students from

low socio economic areas , who aren't on par with students with high socio economic areas you in theory are
setting up for failure , and while I agree the opportunity should definitely be available to them I feel like it's
implemented wrong ... Along with being top 7% there should be a Minimum SAT and that way if these low
socio economic students preform well they are accepted to the UT directly if they don't do well like the girl in
the Article who scored a 1350 ... Then they should get accepted to UT but they would have to attend a year
at ACC even though they have guaranteed admission to UT , by doing this you are making there transition
easier and not setting them up for failure and while these students spend a year , you accept students from
UT school feeders or schools that preform well , and you can determine this by the schools that preform the
best at UIL state and other state competitions see which schools have students that excel in competitions ,
by going through with the proposal you delay these students from low socio economic areas who aren't
ready and then you increase the acceptance rate to top 10 % and make it another SAT to cut off within a
certain range to get in and then the rest is holistic
That way you can prevent students from Low socio economic areas to be put in a place which they aren't
ready for and increase the students chances that go to higher achieving high schools that deserve to get into
UT
And honestly if you can't get a 3.2 at ACC then UT will destroy your GPA to the point that that you won't be
able to get anywhere with the degree , and engineering and business have there own requirements which
determine if you have the possibility of being successful within the school

1) Set up for failure

a. Implemented incorrectly
i. Determination of how well school work is probably
bad idea
2) If they cant put it together enough to get a 3.2 to work at ACC
then they dont deserve to be at UT
