Imam Shafai said

Imam Shafai said

"My stance on Sunnah on which I am, and I saw our
companions on it from Ahl al Hadith like Sufyan and Malik
and others, is to testify that
1.

There is no one worthy of worship other than Allah and

that the Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

2.

& that Allah ta'ala is established on his Arsh on the sky,

gets close to his creation howsoever he wishes, and that
Allah ta'ala descends down to the sky of the dunya
howsoever he wishes,

3.

& that Iman is speech and action, it increases with acts

of obedience and decreases with act of disobedience,

4.

& that Qur'an is the speech of Allah, not a creation;

5.

& that he would not put the believers in the fire forever
for sins even if they were into the major sins.."
