PRINTER
In computers, a printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a computer and
transfers the information to paper, usually to standard size sheets of paper.
TYPES OF PRINTER
IMPACT PRINTER - Impact printer has mechanisms resembling those of a typewriter. It forms
characters or images by striking a mechanism. Produces noise while printing.
Ex- Dot-Matrix Printers, Daisy wheel, Drum printer, Chain printer, etc.

NON IMPACT PRINTER - Non-impact printers do not use a striking device to produce

characters on the paper and because these printers do not hammer against the paper they
are much quieter. Following are some non-impacted printers .They Use Electrostatic,
inkjet, and thermal technologies for printing.
Ex- Laser printers, Ink Jet Printer, Thermal Printer, 3d printer, plotter etc.
