Constitution of the Video Gaming Club of Redmond High School Preamble We the students of the future Video Gaming Club, intend to create a non-profit organization for ‘peacefully bringing together the students of Redmond High School and other schools, through ‘gaming tournaments locally hosted by establishing Redmond High Schoo!'s Video Gaming Club, Atticle 1. Name of the Organization Section A. This organization will be named the Video Gar School 19 Club of Redmond High Atticle 2. Purpose Section A. 4. To create a safe environment for multiplayer gaming without the threat of online stalkers or LD. theft 2. To strengthen bonds between Redmond High school through the popular activity of ‘multi-player video gaming, 3, To strengthen inter-school relationships with other schools through locally hosted video game tournaments, Section B. 1. To maintain a web site posting results of tournaments, newsletters, club forums, and ‘other important pieces of information. All officers shall be forum moderators, to keep the ‘forums clean. This includes keeping forum membership to club members only, deleting offensive posts and topics, and keeping posts from going offtopic. 2. To show gaming is a popular and safe extracurricular activity to those who do not believe so. ‘ticle 3. The Video Gaming Club's Government Section A 1. The activities of The Video Gaming Club shall be directed and approved by RHS* advisor and Administrator. 2. The Video Gaming Club's Government shall be selected by a majority of votes of the Club's members. This does not apply for the frst year (see Amendments Section A. 1.) 3. Each oficers term wil last one year, and the President's position must be run by a Senior. The new officers must belong to the club and are elected by a majority of votes of the club's members. 4. Positions will be terminated and new officers shall be elected under the circumstances, ‘of the person in the position quiting and not doing their ob, which are stated in section B. They may also be voted out by members,..Also if an officer misses at least three meetings in a row, without a decent excuse i.e. sick at home, making up missed test etc. The new officers will be voted on by the club members. 5. The termination and election of officers will consist of votes from the club's members. A majority vote with at least 60% of positive votes will allow the termination or election of, club officers Section 6 4. There will be four positions in The Video Gaming Club's government: the President, ‘wo Vice Presidents, a Public Relations officer, a Treasurer, and Secretary 2. The President will supervise the two Vice Presidents and Public Relations officer ‘making sure the club runs smoothly while managing the club's Web Site. The president ‘must be a senior. 3. The two Vice Presidents will be in charge of organizing and running events. They must Present a report tothe club president, the Club advisor and Treasurer, on what will ake place, and any possible expenses. There must be a Senior and Junior Vice President in office. This is because organizing and running events is too big ofa job for one person and just in case the Senior President and Senior Vice President are too busy with CP on advisory periods, the Junior Vice President can run the club meeting for them. 4. The Public Relations Officer shall be in charge of advertising the club and its events, while also managing membership, e-mails, and helping with the club's Web site. 5, The Treasurer will be in charge of the clubs funds and donation money. All financial transactions must transmit from the Advisor to the school bookkeeper. 6, The Secretary wil be solely in charge of taking notes and minutes during club meetings. 7. The Advisor has the power and authority to end toumaments, or meetings if they deem. itnecessary, such as under the circumstances of members misbehaving, cursing or rue breaking. The advisor also has the power to terminate membership when he or she sees fit Section C 1. Greg Pratt, founder of the Video Gaming Club, shall be the president of the club for the first year. Greg Pratt wil also choose the Officers forthe club's first year. Section D 41, The advisor of the Gaming Club for the first year shall be Mr. Dejoy 2. Mr. Dejoy will be advisor until he until he no longer chooses to be advisor. Article 4, Membership and Donations Section A. 41. The Video Gaming Club will be open to all students attending Redmond High School. ‘The club will invite other schools, but non RHS students are not alloed to join the organization orto attend meetings. 2. Membership will only be terminated through circumstances of bad behavior, the ‘advisor's decision, or the student's unenroliment from Redmond High School. 3. All members have the right to attend events and meetings. 4. All members must follow the rules of Redmond High School, and also follow the Lake Washington School Districts policies and State Laws, Section B. 4, Members will are welcome to donate money to go towards raising funds for the Red Cross, to promote the club's good wil Article 5. Meetings and Events Section A. 1. Meetings shall take place at least once every two weeks after school. Meetings will also be held during club advisory days. Attendance will not be compulsory, especially for seniors on key CP days. Ifthe president is unable to attend a meeting due to CP on advisory days, then the Junior or Senior Vice President will temporarily take over for or her. 2. During meetings casual video gaming will be allowed. The club advisor must approve the games that are played. People are allowed to bring personal consoles from home, while the school, officers, advisor and the club in general will not be liable for any gear theft, damages, or breakages, 3. A.waiver will be created for members to sign to show the school, officers, advisor and the club in general will not be liable for personal equipment theft, damages or breakages. Section B. 41. Events will be locally hosted at Redmond High School. Club members will be allowed to visit other schools for events, but only i the current advisor allows it and attends it along with the members outside of school, 2. Events will be open to all members, or selected club teams and invited students from in and out of district schools, These events include tournaments, 3. Toumaments will include multi-platform multi-player gaming on consoles of the clubs choice, for example Xbox, Playstation 2, Gamecube, and Nintendo DS consoles. All ‘games played must have prior approval Section C. 1. Tournament games will be banned from the club if rated AO (Adults Only 184) and anything higher by the ESRB (Entertainment Rating Software Board) 2. For tournament games rated M (Mature 17+) by the ESRB an ID (student card or drivers license) must be shown proving the age of the contestant, thereby not letting anyone under the suitable age to join This includes members and out of school guests. ‘Ages will be recorded by the Public Relations officer. An administrator must also approve the contents of the video game. 3. Anything rated below M (Mature 17+) by the ESRB shall be open to all members and guests, 4. A list of approved games will be logged to make toumaments more organized and ‘easier to put together. ‘Amendments Section A, 1. In the Clubs second year Article 3, Section A. 2. will come into effect.
