Theater at Monmouth: Rehearsal Report

PRODUCTION: The Turn Of The Screw

DATE: Tues/6/9/15

GENERAL NOTES
In lieu of traditional scenes, we are using the day breaks in the script: p11- Opening, p11- Day One, p14- Day
Two, p18- Day Three, p24- Day Four, p29- Day Five, p32- Day Six, p40- Day Seven
We would like to forgo the usual curtain speech before performances. Instead, we would begin with a Kronos
Quartet piece 8 minutes before curtain and the house lights slowly fading to near darkness by curtain and the
end of the piece. We also would like the ushers to carry the lanterns from last seasons Romeo and Juliet
while seating patrons.

LIGHTS

SET

We are interested in gradually lighting the mural at

the top of the dome above the house when The
Governess describes the splendor of Bly on pg14.

As discussed in the production meeting, we are

adding a tall screen behind the wingback chair to
conceal actors from view.
Can I get dimensions of the stair unit for floor taping
purposes?
