PROJECT ONE FOR ALL

Leaders Launch New, Regional Effort to Help
Severely Mentally Ill Homeless Individuals
WHAT:

Following Tuesdays decision by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to add $6.3
million for mental health, Board Chairman Ron Roberts and Supervisor Greg Cox will call on
the County to commit to providing more severely mentally ill homeless people with intensive
services.
Supported by Mayors Kevin Faulconer (San Diego) and Mary Casillas Salas (Chula Vista), along
with mental health experts, the Supervisors will ask their colleagues to create Project One For
All, a program to bring vital support services to our most vulnerable homeless throughout the
region.
The Project will include the 18 cities in the region, housing commissions and community-based
organizations. It will pair resources with intensive wraparound services to help the serious
mentally ill homeless find and maintain housing, and get their lives back on track. This ONE
new program will commit support services FOR ALL of the regions severely mentally ill over
multiple years.
Tuesdays vote for additional funding brings this fiscal years total to more than $140 million in
Mental Health Services Act spending.
