JOB DESCRIPTION MULTI-SYSTEMIC THERAPIST CLASS: 6 CATEGORY: XVIII JOB: 4 SLOT; G3A0079 DPT: 247 INCUMBENT: Mclenie Haynes PROGRAM: MST. LOCATION: Delaware POSITION SUMMARY The Multi Systemic Therapist is a professional in the behavioral healthcare field. The staff's primary duty is the performance of work which is predominantly intellectual in nature requiring advanced knowledge acquired through a formalized course of specialized intellectual instruction in area of behavioral health, The Multi Systemic Therapist’s primary duties consist of multi systemic therapy (MST) and community application of MST model. The model includes community treatment with families of adjudicated youth that have been provided an intensive home based alternative to incarceration. The treatment has been court ordered from family court, The Therapist assists the family in changing anti-social behaviors of the youth in the context ofa systems approach. The Therapist carries a caseload of four (4) to six (6) adjudicated youth, The Therapist consistently exercises discretion and indepencent judgment in the performance of the duties of the position, EXEMPT: _X___YES_NO MUM QUALIFICATIO! EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: ‘Mastet’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Creative Asts Therapy, Rehabilitation, Human Services, Femily Therapy, Education Counseling, or related field, plus one year experience working in human services which may include intemships and practicums. MST Therapy Certification Program must be successfully completed within sixty (60) days of the date of hire Quarterly booster training thereafter. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license, Must present and maintain original documentation that all credentials are current and valid. Must submit to criminal background and driving record check from appropriate regulatory and law enforcement authorities. Must be capable of satisfactorily performing all job functions/tasks in the absence of direct supervision. Must be able to serve as arole model for behavior and appearance. Must have an in-depth understanding of recognized and widely accepted clinical and behavioral assessment, intervention, and management techniques, Must be able to exercise good judgment and perform well under pressure. Must have the ability to be flexible in managing the unanticipated needs of clients, the treatment team and the program. Must possess ability to consistently exercise sound discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties of the position. Must be capable of handling highly complex cases involving a high degree of clien/community risk. Must be amenable to supervision. Must be able to fet as arole model. Must be able to interact effectively with community, criminal justice system, Schools, family and agencies. Must be able to establish trust and rapport (therapeutic alliance) with, clients and families. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office and community settings, consisting of all types of physical/emotional environments and conditions ‘of sanitation including but not limited to client residences, hospitals, schools, churches, community and hospital emergency facilities, social service agencis, law enforcemenvegal facilities, and client places of | employment. Any variety of physical and/or emotional circumstances may be encountered in the course of providing MST services, Must be able to work flexible and variable hours at variable locations,
