TERM 2 INTU

SOCIAL STUDIES 9 TECH IMMERSION

HELPFUL HINTS FOR THE RESEARCH PROCESS:
Look through the table of contents (front) and index (back) of books to see if your
specific topic is included makes your searching more efficient
Flip through and pay attention to BOLDED SECTION TITLES to guide your reading
again more efficient
Do not type in your entire INTU statement/question into Google! A) We want to hear
about what YOU learned, not what someone else thinks or understands about the
topic!!! B) More than likely you will not find anything helpful and this will only lead to
disappointment and frustration.
Use keyword searches (i.e. names, places, etc) try different terms and combinations
of words. Dont give up even if you dont find anything useful immediately.
Research is not a ONE STOP shop. Its very unlikely youll find all you need in one
source. Be patient and focused during research classes.
Remember to look in different sources books, databases, and websites.
