Meaning & Spirit of Christian Witness

In a multi-religion world, full of chaos and confusion, how does one stand up for Christ?
How does one choose to be with Him? How does one follow Him? He said, Love your enemies,
and pray for those who persecute you, is that even possible? How could you possibly love
someone without looking at him with disgust because of something about him youre quite
against? These are the things I am still trying to figure out till today . To be a Christian Witness, I
believe, should have a clear comprehension about these . It perceives Gods love even in the
simplest ways and radiates that love to the people around . But how do you spread love when
youre surrounded by hate?
It was our choice to be with Christ, it is our choice to remain in Him . Now, we are also
asked to make a choice to love. To love our brothers and sisters, our classmates and teachers,
even that kid we see begging outside the gates, is hard . But, its love that Christ died on the cross
for us. When we choose Christ, we choose to love, no matter how hard . When we live our life in
love for Christ, we reveal the unseen Jesus to the lives of the people around us . In the same
way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to
your Father who is in heaven. We become witnesses not for the people around us but for Christ
and Him alone. We devote everything we have for His glory and not ours . We offer our hearts
and minds to Him who gives us strength to carry on through the trials and tribulations we face in
this world we live in. We become His instruments in the lives of the last, the lost and the least .
We are called to be witnesses, called to love and be in love. Would you respond?
There are times when we feel we are not worthy to become witnesses for Christ but,
Pauls letter to the Romans tells us, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God . We
are not called to be perfect. He proved that on the cross, because of His great love, He died for
those who believed in Him. It is in love that we were called, it is in love that we are called to
respond. Respond to the calls of the hungry and homeless, to the sick and weary, to the sad and
angry. How could you possibly love someone without looking at him with disgust because of
something about him youre quite against? see in him, the face of Jesus . This, for me is the true
meaning & spirit of Christian witness.
