Chong Wei donates racquet to

good cause
KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei once again showed that
he has a heart of gold by donating his winning racquet for a good
cause.
On Friday, Chong Wei gave away the racquet that was used to win his
10th Malaysian Open title to kick-start the Badminton World
Federations (BWF) Equipment Donation Project.
Players and badminton fans are encouraged to pass on their unused
racquets or shoes to the BWF to be passed on to children from the
poorer nations. The project will officially begin during the All-England in
Birmingham from March 4-9.
Chong Wei has urged all stake-holders in the badminton fraternity to
give generously.
I can picture a child from a poorer nation holding my racquet. It is a
good way to encourage the children to play the game and promote the
sport, said Chong Wei, who handed over the racquet with his initials to
BWFs representatives on Friday.
Several other Malaysian players also gave their belongings for the good
cause.
