    Somuchofmyteachingstyleandapproachtoeducationisaresultoftheongoingmentorship
    withUna.

    Asamasterteacher,UnaservedasanadjunctprofessorformyTeachingSocialStudiesin
    MiddleSchoolcourseatNYU.Unascoursewasdesignedtosupportingfutureteachersas
    theyexperiencedtheirinitialmomentsintheclassroomwhilestudentteaching.Unaworked
    aboveandbeyondwhatwasrequiredofher.Notonlydidsheguidepowerfulgroupdiscussion
    abouteducationandpreviewedtherealworkofteachersonthefrontlines,butshealsoinvited
    colleaguesandotherprofessionalsinthefieldofeducationtospeakwithusaboutthe
    expectationsandchallengesofteachinginNewYorkCitypublicschools.MytimewithUnaat
    NYUwasmeaningfulandvaluableasIcurrentlycontinuetoreflectandintegrateher
    teachingsintomyclassroom.

    InherclassroomatManhattanAcademyofTechnology(MAT),IfoundUnatobeoneofthe
    mostcaring,dedicatedanddiligentpeopletoworkwithinthefieldofeducation.She
    approachedeveryaspectofherworkwithsincerityandfocustothegreatervisionandpurpose
    ofeducation.Sheisamasterattimemanagementandcommunicationasshesimultaneously
    juggledsomanyrolesandresponsibilitiesasateacher,adjunctprofessor,advisor,and
    administrativesupport.Nomatterthesituationandstress,Unaalwaysmanagedtohandleany
    situationwithgraceandaplomb.AsIshadowedherandcloselyobservedherteaching,Isoon
    realizedthatUnasstrengthisinherabilitytoadaptherteachingtomeettheneedsofallthe
    studentsinherclassroom.Sheisaflexiblethinkerandapassionatecollaboratorforhandson
    interdisciplinarywork.


    DuringmytimeatMAT,itwasclearthatstudentsandteachersadmiredandrespectedUna.
    Studentsfeltandvaluedhergenuinecareandloveforthemandweremotivatedtoexploreher
    deepknowledgeandunderstandingofSocialStudies.Studentspassionatelyandproudly
    workedonUnasfamousIndependentMiniProjectsandCourtCases.Additionally,Unaoften
    collaboratedwithhergradeteamteachersinefforttocreaterichinterdisciplinaryworkfor
    students.IspeakwithouthesitationwhenIsayonebecamefullyaliveasanactiveparticipant
    oflearninguponenteringherclassroom.Sheisarareblendofqualitiesthatmakeherafantastic
    teacher.Sheisdiligent,curious,committedandeagertocollaborateandlearnfromothers.
