ABSTRACT
Field of capital budgeting is comprehensive and challenging. it plays vital role in the
decision making of project proposals and its implementation.

Allocation of resources

among the competing alternatives is the crucial step in the process. Virtually no company
possess the fully equipped resources so managing it in a technical process plays vital role.
Objectives of study are to identify the operation which reduces the costs and increase the
revenue. The important crux of investment is yielding high returns so the CB studies and
evaluates the proposals and identify which method yields maximum returns.
In the project development cycle the different phases of identification of investment
opportunity , project analysis , feasibility study of project, decision making plays crucial
role.
As investment in long term assets is a complex process the decisions pertaining must also
be tactical so the project while generating the decision making must be efficient.
In calculation of capital budgeting ,methods of traditional and discounted methods are
followed .
Capital budgeting

decisions are made for replacements , expansion, diversification,

independent proposals and mutually exclusive proposals are made.

Types of identifying risks , managing the resources and computing cash flows plays vital
role in capital budgeting. Finally capital budgeting techniques helps the manager in
evaluating the efficient allocation of capital.
