In this context, Public-Privat partnership (PPP) initiatives have proved invaluable and cost effective particularly in th developing countries, The PPP scheme Fased on our experience and with a view to support the Government's medium-term economic strategies NRC has formulated a scheme for the selection, financing and monitoring the collaborative partnership between productive business enterprises and the universities, R&D institutions as well as'sclenticte technologists in the country. The Expression of Interest (EO!) should clearly identify the Research & Development needs that are to be addressed and their commercial potential. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED: 1, PROPOSED R & D ACTIVITY A description of the proposed R & D activity should be provided including the envisaged product/process to be developed. It should be in alignment with the business strategies of the private partner and be ‘commercially feasible. Please provide very specific details, in not more than 500 words. 2, PARTNERSHIP TYPE Public Partner: Universities, R & D Institutes, Corporations, Ministries (to provide research expertise) Private Partner: Private or Public commercial enterprises Expression of Interest has to be submitted with both partners clearly identified 3. FUNDING [otal cost of the research project will be equally shared between the private partner and the NRC. An approximate budget should be provided. Sharing of benefits accruing from the output of the project is to be negotiated SUBMISSION ‘fe Format for EOI can be downloaded from the NRC website, mentioned below. Submission should not be more than four pages. The NRC will take all necessary steps to ensure confidentiality of the proposal. Funding will be considered for equipment, consumables, travel and postgraduate studentships. Any grant application exceeding Rs.5 Million should be strongly justified, Funding will also be available for postdoctoral research, within three years of obtaining a PhD, for those scientists who do not have an institutional affiliation. They should however identify a University/R&D Institute and a senior supervisor to carryout the fellowship for a period of up to 2 years.
