Clarification of juice is done by many different ways.

Lime is used as a universal Defecant.
Sulphurous acid, Phosphoric Acid and Carbonic Acid and MgO is also used.
Action of Lime on Juice.
Many Organic Acids are illuminated since their lime salts are insoluble so they setteled down as a coagulated particles.
Use of lime in the pulverized state is not recommended because it will over lime certain portions of juice and certain portions remains
limeless.
The solubility of Lime increases with the sugar content and decreases with the increase in the temperature.
By mixing pulverized lime with water milk of lime is used and mixed with juice its mixing is much more rapid and action is uniform.
0.5-0.8 kg per Ton Capacity of lime is used
Hot liming is used in our mill.
