My Philosophy of Education “Great teacher engineer learning experiences that put students in the drivers seat and then get out of the way” Ben Johnson Educator ¢ [believe in a positive approach to behavior management - an approach based on positive reinforcement, recognition and rewards as opposed to negativity and punishment. © [believe in treating all students with respect. ¢ [believe in treating students equally- This also implies that Iwill treat students differently according to their needs. ¢ believe in implementing goal-oriented lessons- Ifa lesson does not have a specific objective, what am I trying to teach? © I believe in student-centered, constructivist learning- where students are given responsibility for their own learning. © I believe in-group work- It is the perfect arena for fostering life-long skill, which is transferable to everyday life © [believe in fairness-Whether this shows through the implementation of classroom management techniques or in grading methods, all students will be treated fairly. ¢ I believe that the student should be at the center of the instructional process e I believe in getting to know my students - strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes - as best I can, so that I may help them to grow.
