One Giant Leap

One Giant Leap was composed by Erik Morales. He was born on December 10,
1966 and is still alive today. He began to compose after he graduated high school in
South Florida. At the Florida International University studied composition and obtained
his degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has composed music with
very appealing rhythms and harmonic tunes. He has many arrangements for all levels of
musicians. He wrote a large variety of music styles for all types of bands. He went to
school in Florida, which is close to where the NASA Kennedy Space Center is located.
One Giant Leap is about the first landing on the moon. Neil Armstrong is
featured in this piece as he is the first man to walk on the moon. There are seven pieces
that Erik Morales composed. They are We Choose the Moon, Countdown, Saturn
V, Weightless, Tranquility Base, One Giant Leap, and We Came in Peace.
Countdown speeds up dramatically and leads into this falling aray of notes.
Weightless and Tranquility Base are slow and soft. This composition grabs attention
of listeners due to its ambiguous rhythms which makes you want to hear more. Each
audio clip leads into the music which is composed precisely to make you feel like you
are there. This piece has swift movements from fast to soft. All sections are uniquely
arranged and help to make this piece as mysterious as space.
