The president in one of his statement said, "I will have to study that. I don't know where the calls are emanating from. But yung (the) essence nito (of this), our judicial system, as you know, is not perfect. There is a possibility that people can be wrongly convicted, especially if they do not have the ability to secure competent counsel. Should we change the judicial system in our country from judge to jury system? Compare the possible pros and cons of having a judge or jury system in our country. Do you think adopting the jury system, like the practice in United States, can help reform the judicial department? Explain your stand. PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION 4. In a Senate committee hearing about constitutional amendments chaired by Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, she invited experts on constitution as the resource person and one of them was former Chief Justice Reynato Puno who said that now is the perfect time to amend the 1987 Constitution. If you were to ask, do you think this is the right time for us to make some changes in the 1987 Philippine Constitution? Why or Why not? What are the provisions that we should change which is not suited in the present generation?
