Subject: Writing
Standard: W.2.2 Write informative/ explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts, and definitions to develop points, and provide a
concluding statement or section.
Objective (Explicit): The students will be able to complete a How- to Build a Snow Pal template using four details and writing the steps in
order.
Evidence of Mastery (Measurable): Students will show evidence of mastery by completing the worksheet given and being able to tell how to
build a snowman using First, Next, Then, and Last.
Sub-objectives, SWBAT (Sequenced from basic to complex): Students will review what they know about writing about something in a
sequenced order. Students will discuss what they know about snow pals and how to build a snow pal. Students will follow the order of the
sequenced words to write how to build a snow pal giving step- by- step instruction. Students will understand how to write an explanatory,
sequenced story about how to build a snow pal.
