Colour Theory Tree Activity

Using Emotive Colours

1. Trace around the outside of an A4 paper onto your Visual Art Diary to create a
rectangle; this will be your complete drawing space.
2. Within the rectangle draw a grid using your ruler; remember to press very softly as
you want to be able to rub out these lines later.
3. Draw the outline of your tree like the one seen above.
4. Choose a colour theme based on the theory we have discussed and recorded in
your Visual Art Diary.

5. Colour the squares using the emotive colours you have chosen to create the
background of your tree; remember to use colours that communicate a main
emotion/part of the same family.
