This document examines the relationship between Eb/N0 (the energy per bit to noise power spectral density ratio) and bit error rate (BER) for quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation over Rayleigh fading and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. The BER decreases as the Eb/N0 ratio increases for both channel types, but the Rayleigh fading channel has a higher BER than the AWGN channel at any given Eb/N0 value due to the additional fading interference.
