There are two key signatures that dont follow any of the rules.
You must know these.

Be careful when writing the names of key signatures.


You must know whether the name of the key contains or .
Ex. G Major vs G# Major vs G Major

Remember these rules.

If the name of the key does not have or , it contains sharps

The only sharp keys with in the name are F Major and C Major
G# Major, D# Major, A# Major, E# Major, B# Major DO NOT EXIST!!!!

All flat keys have in the name

The two exceptions to these rules are C Major and F MajorYou must memorize these!
F Major DOES NOT EXIST!!!
