Panasonic commercial microwave oven, model NE1056T, manufactured between 2001 and 2003, i rowave eneray in ex due to compromised spot-welds between the wave guide and the cavity. Should you receive the subject model for service, please follow the procedure outlined below. 1. Remove the outer cover from the oven and plug the oven into a grounded power outlet. 2. Place a container with approx. 0.5 cup of water into the oven's cavity and place the probe of the leakage tester in position 1 (see fig. 1). 3. Stand at the maximum distance from the oven and energize the magnetron by pressing the START button, 4, While standing away from the oven, verify the leakage reading on the meter. 5. Ifthe leakage reading is 2mW/cm’ or less, test for leakage at positions 2 and 3 (see fig. 2and 3), 6. Should you receive any of the applicable models for service, follow the procedure below. 1. Open the door and identify the manufacturing date on the label located on the control panel (Fig. 1). 2. Ifthe oven was manufactured between March 2001 and March 2002, a) Make sure the oven is disconnected from power source (unplugged) b) Remove the outer cover of the oven ¢) Visually inspect the upper right-hand side edge of the cavity and check for any gaps, loose spot-welds, evidence of arcing, discoloration due to heat, (Figs.2, 3, 4). 3. Ifa gap, loose spot-weld, evidence of arcing or discoloration is detected in the upper right-hand side edge of the cavity, STOP AND DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SERVICE THE UNIT. 4, Call toll-free (866) 292-7299 and press option “6” for further instructions. 5. Advise your customer that the defective oven will be replaced by Panasonic, directly and free of charge. Please note that only the subject models manufactured during the period of March 2001 - March 2002 and exhibiting conditions listed in paragraph 2c are subject to this bulletin. ‘Ovens manufactured after March 2002 are not affected and should be serviced as usual.
