Class of 66 - Weekend Reminisces

What a wonderful weekend and well done Heather and family for making us all so
welcome. The format and setting was perfect starting late morning with a leisurely lunch
followed by a relaxed afternoon in the sun catching up. A round of petanque was played
but no one was tempted for a round of golf. Dinner was preceded by some massed
singing of Gaudeamus igitur, Cym Rhondda and How Great Thou Art. Not a bad effort
all things considered.
It was scary not recognizing people initially but it was amazing how quickly one could
pick up the features of the younger person we knew! I endorse Nick Gaudins comment
that our intake was a good bunch of people. The fact that 40 years on we could enjoy
each others company so much was testament to this.
I had mentioned to a friend here in Christchurch that I was looking forward to meeting up
with several people and in particular Michael Harding because I had heard him singing
on National radio over the years. On my return when asked if I managed to do this I was
able to say that I actually slept with Michael! I did then explain that Heather had kindly
set up two double beds in the garage!!
