Data interpretation is one most critical section in BANK PO and CLERK exams which can become a nightmare
for a lot of students. In this section, different caselets with 4-5 questions will be there. The questions and
pattern in this section may change year after year, so always make sure that you score the cut-off marks for DI
section and be safe.

CONCEPT:
(A) Questions of DI are based on

Percentage
Average
Ratio
Profit and loss (Income & Expenditure)

(B) Types of DI
Tabulation: A Data Table is a common method in data interpretation. Table is an arrangement of data in rows
and columns.
Pie-char:
A Pie Chart is a type of graph in which a circle is divided into sectors that each represent a
proportion of the whole.
Bar-graph: A Bar graph is essentially a graph converted into and presented in the form of rectangular blocks
called as bars.
Line-graph: A Line graph is a linear representation of the figures, put on a two-dimensional scale and show a
relationship between the figures on the two axes, via x and y.

(c) Approach
Improving your calculations is the first step to improve your Data Interpretation. You need to work on both
accuracy and speed to improve this section.

Be clear on what is given and what is asked.

See how much effort is required to get the required data from the given data.
If only relative values are asked, dont calculate the actual values.
Check the units required. Be sure that your answer is in thousands, millions, or whatever the question calls for.
